For David Boreanaz

By Rosalyn H. Marhatta

You sing Mandy on “Angel”
and hit two good notes
out of seventy-five
mocking karaoke and yourself.
It’s a Youtube hit.

You play Seeley Booth on “Bones”
wearing striped socks
a cocky belt buckle,
and a look at your co-star
that burns love into female hearts.
Your tv show gets 10 million viewers.

You cajole your co-star
into an April Fools joke
(you are decapitated heads in an ice chest)
to stop your co-workers’ hearts.
Fox network posts the video on their website.

You smush cake into your boss’s* face
but you kiss him and make it alright.
He posts the photo on twitter;
he tweets it means you’re married to him
in Canada.

You’re a dad who takes his kid to hockey camp,
a husband who cooks tomato sauce and pizza
even though you burn the crust sometimes.
Your wife posts photos of you on twitter.

Your image is all over the net.
There is no resisting your smile.

*@HartHanson my twitter BFF according to twitter.

David & Jaime Boreanaz said they love this poem.
